Drashti, Vivian, Karan Kundra to perform on 'Comedy ka Jashn'

It's been 65 years since our freedom fighters brought us independence. However, even today, we celebrate in a somber mood and partake in the festivities halfheartedly.

Breaking this tradition and encouraging proud Indians to celebrate Independence Day with a smile on their faces as Colors' presents 'Comedy ka Jashn - Hasne ki Azaadi' to showcase a dance and comedy extravaganza that brings together Bollywood and television celebrities. This special feature will air on Wednesday, 15th August at 1 PM.

Inspiring the spirit of laughter among audiences, Comedy ka Jashn will feature a plethora of performances from popular artists including Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor, television actors Drashti Dhami, Mahi Vijj,Vivian Dsena, Karan Kundra, Giaa Manek, Sharad Kelkar, Rashmi Desai, Hema Singh, Usha Nadkarni, Ankita Lokhande and Sanjeeda Sheikh, comedians Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Bhosle, Sunil Grover, and many more.

The acts will be themed around Independence Day while focusing on the newsmakers of the year gone by. Whether it's dealing with national unity or different political issues which created waves during the year, 'Comedy ka Jashn' will showcase a comic take on it all. Further, as dance becoming the essence of entertainment in India, some humour-based dance performances will also be presented adding to the entertainment quotient.

Clean-shaven is out, it's stubble now for telly gang!
Times have changed and so have trends on the small screen. The chocolate boy look that ruled tellyland at one point is totally out with most top TV guys sporting the stubble. The list includes: Barun Sobti in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, Arhaan Behl in Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, Kushal Tandon in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain, Gurmeet Choudhary in Punar Vivah ' Zindagi
Milegi Dobara, Jay Bhanushali in Kairee: Rishta Khatta Meetha, Anas Rashid and Gautam Gulati in Diya Aur Baati Hum, Vivan D'sena in Madhubala ' Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Kunal Karan Kapoor of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Ashish Sharma in Rab Se Sohna Isshq, Sameer Soni in Parichay 'Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka, Siddharth Shukla in Balika Vadhu and Avinesh Rekhi in Chhal-Sheh Aur Maat.

The main reason for this is the changing taste among female fans, who seem to like the macho look better. There was a time, when producers asked for the actor to be clean-shaven, but today it's the other way round. Like actor Gurmeet Choudhary, who's changed his appearance for his show, says, "I don a rugged look in my show as it was the requirement of my character. And let me tell you that the girls love it. To maintain it, I just need to change my shaving schedule. Instead of shaving in the morning, I do it in the night."

Actor Vivian D'sena too has started loving his unkempt look. "Little stubble suits me. I am told that I look like a school boy in a clean-shaven look. As an actor, I personally need to like my look and only then can I convince the audience about the change in my appearance. My fiance Vahbbiz Dorabjee is quite excited about my stubble look." So, does he find it hard to maintain his beard on a regular basis? "It isn't difficult at all, but I need to take constant care which isn't a problem for me," says Vivian.

Of course, this trend isn't entirely new. It started a couple of years ago with cool dudes like Karan Singh Grover, Nikhil Arya and Sushant Singh Rajput, among others, making it popular. But now it seems like it's here to stay...

Kritika Kamra These days the male leads are not playing college boys. They are not shown as 19 or 20 years old. They are portrayed as married and mature, so perhaps that is the reason most of them are sporting a stubble and they can't be given the chocolate boy look. I like the rugged look, but stubble looks nice on certain men, not everybody can pull it off.

Hina Khan In my show, my hero is a chocolate boy. But I like hunks with a good body and stubble. Which girl doesn't like men with a certain style and charisma? I wouldn't like my guy to look like a mama's boy, or someone with male features but feminine looks!

Ragini Khanna Usually, the female lead is shown nice and sweet and to complement her these days we have guys with stubble. Even in movies these days you will find macho men. Actually, it is not just about films and television, even in real life girls prefer men over boys, and as we say dream man and never dream boy. It is more aspirational. Guys with a rugged look come across as more mature and dependable.

Drashti Dhami I prefer chocolate boy looks because they look more innocent. These days lot of guys on television are seen in a macho look, but I don't like what has become too common. And the actor I like the most in a chocolate boy look is Ranbir Kapoor followed by Shahid Kapoor. In Rock On, Ranbir tried looking rough but finally he was liked in his clean-shaven avatar.

Pooja Gor Thank God that the rugged look is back. Guys with stubble look more casual and natural. It doesn't look made up. I don't like it when guys work on their looks, their hair and face. They look more real in that rough look. As a teenager I liked the chocolate boy look but that has changed.

Ankita Lokhande Sushant was the first one to sport the macho look on television. Since, he was my co-star, I started liking the look. He played a mechanic and was seen wearing a check shirt, jeans, chappals and messy hair. It was a casual look. I really loved that look a lot. When I was in my teens I may have liked the clean-shaven look but now it is definitely macho men in stubble.

Shama Deshpande who was last seen Kis desh mai hai mera dil will be seen as RK aka Rishabh Kundra's (Vivian Desena) mother.

Present track shows that RK is marrying Madhubala( Drashti Dhami) forcibly to take revenge of her insult .

After wedding , RK's family will be introduced in the show . RK's dad will be his step dad because his mother got married two times.

RK's dad supposed to be a famouse producer and director in the film industry , Raja Murad will be playing the role of RK's father.

Shama Deshpande to enter Madhubala as RK's mother

Shama Deshpande, who was last seen in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil on Star Plus, will soon enter Colors' Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. She will play RK's (Vivian Dsena) mother and will be paired opposite Raza Murad who has already been cast to play RK's dad.

With RK forcibly marrying Madhu (Drashti Dhami), the scene will now shift to RK's house wherein his family will be introduced. RK's dad happens to be his step dad, as his mom had gone through second marriage. RK's dad is supposed to be a famous producer and director in the film industry.

When contacted, Shama Deshpande confirmed the news, stating, "Yes, I play RK's mother. It is a role with lot of depth and I am yet to start shoot."

Madhubala has time and again proven that she is a dutiful daughter and an exceptional sister. She also can't stand wrongful behaviour. But for all this strength, we see her time and again being helpless, especially when she is faced with RK. So much so that she is ready to get married to him, on his whim, to save her Maalik's life. Madhu needs to channel her inner 'heroine' and take her life into her own hands.

Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon is leaving no stone unturned to keep the viewers glued to their screens. RK and Madhubala have accepted their relationship as husband and wife for their vested interests. After marriage RK is not leaving a single chance to hurt Madhubala. In the upcoming episode RK will use a new trick to irritate Madhubala. He will forcefully take Madhu to the sets of his film.

Madhubala facing tough times with TRP!

Television world completely runs on TRP, which every week decides the future of the dailies. While it is not note that the shows with worthy content indisputably rule the charts, but sometimes the ones with a strong start tend to face some major hurdles.

And the finest examples to quote here is of Nautanki Telefilms' small screen's film Madhubala…Ek Ishq Ek Junoon aired on Colors. The show was launched with much spectacle and fanfare. It opened with a TRP of 2.8, the highest for any newly launched fiction show in 2012.

Starring the two most popular personalities Vivian Dsena (Rk) and Drashti Dhami (Madhu), the show, however, in the mid way experienced a great downfall in numbers. Though the new twist wherein one saw the unique wedding of RK and Madhu is expected the twist the fate of the show but it really puzzles all as to why such powerful content is not bagging the right numbers.

When asked to producer Saurabh Tewari about the level of competition, he said, "The competition is high but we will be aiming for the best. He comes up with a unique subject, which is not copied from anywhere. We are hoping to maintain the curriculum with the best thing to put on the show."

On the other hand, Vivian doesn't let such things bog him down, "I am an actor and my job is to perform to the best of my ability and not get affected by TRPs." In fact, he even questioned the TRP measuring instrument.

Well, we too feel the same Vivian. Whatever the TRPs are, we know your fans love the show with whole heart!

Madhubala's' problems are far from over

The show on ‘Colors TV’ “Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon” held a lot of promise at the time of its launch. Also it managed to get an envious opening for any show till date, TRP’s of 2.8. The show had an ensemble of some of the well known names in the television industry as its star cast.

But in spite of all the things being in its favor, the show has not managed to live up to the expectations of the viewers, and it is seeing a gradual downfall in its TRP’s since the time of its launch. The makers too fail to understand the reason behind the same. It can be assumed that one of the reasons for its failure may be due to setting very high standards in its initial episodes and thereafter failing to maintain the same.

The show has seen a drastic dip in the TRP’s of late, in spite of having two heartthrobs of the small screen, Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami, playing the leads. Now as a corrective measures, the creative heads, are trying to incorporate a track of, RK and Madhubala’s, romance, which was missing all the time.

One thing has surely been proved by this whole scenario, that it is the script that is of prime importance and no amount of hype and marketing gimmicks can save a bad product from failing. Till then it is a wait and watch situation for “Madhubala”.

Sikandar Kharbanda to play negative role in 'Madhubala'

High octane drama will be seen in the coming episodes of Nautanki Telefilms' "Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon", being aired on 'Colors TV'. After versatile actors, Raza Murad and Shama Deshpande, entering the show, it is now, Sikandar Kharbanda, who has been signed by the makers, to spice up the proceedings.

Sikandar's current assignment is on 'Zee TV's show "Phir Subah Hogi", playing the role of Sugni's maternal uncle. His role in "Madhubala" is that of RK's step brother and it will be a total negative character role.

Sikandar will be shown as an evil guy, full of hatred for his step brother, RK. He is to shown totally jealous of RK's popularity and stardom, which he himself could not achieve. Sikandar tries his hands at films but is shown to be a total disaster, with his first film flopping badly. This is shown as the main reason of Sikandar's hatred towards his brother. Sikandar's entry on the show is scheduled for the next week.

Sikandar Kharbanda to play RK's step brother in Madhubala!

Starring ace actors Vivian Dsena, Drashti Dhami,Raza Muraad and Shama Deshpande in the lead roles Colors popular show Madhubala has been winning high numbers and raving niche in the popularity meter.

And to continue its success the makers are all set to hit the airways with high voltage-drama in the forthcoming episodes by bringing a new face in the show. It's heard that talented actor Sikandar Kharbanda who was seen in many Bollywood flicks and currently playing in Zee TV's Phir Subah Hogi as Sungni's maternal uncle, will now play a negative character in Madhubala.

If buzz is to believe, Sikandar will create more hurdles in Madhu's life. His action would be seen as depressing actor in a step brother of RK (Vivian Dsena). Sikander is cruel and malevolence and he hates RK's popularity and stardom as he could not achieve it himself. He also dreamt of becoming a successful actor but his first film was a big disaster and this is one of the biggest reasons for his hatred towards RK.

Ask Sikander about the role and his entry on the show, he said, "I am very happy to be a part of Madhubala. It is really challenging for an actor to do two different roles at the same time and I consider myself very lucky to have bagged this opportunity. I will start shooting next week for the show."

Let's see how Madhu will deal with the two monsters at a time now.

The upcoming episode is bringing very tough time for Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) in Madhubala ek ishq ek junoon on Colors.

It was last seen that Madhu visited the hospital to meet her father inspite of RK’s refusal. RK aka Rishabh Kundra (Vivian Dsena) got very angry to see Madhu meeting her father against his (RK) wish.

Madhu lost her temper when RK took her back to his home. Madhubala told RK that he cannot understand a relationship between a daughter and father because he himself does not know about any relation and affection.

She also called RK as an animal. Madhu’s all words made RK very angry.

It will now be shown that RK will turn into a villain and he will hurt Madhubala very badly. He will ask Madhu what she knows about his family and past.

The actor aims to open up food joints across the city

Manish Naggdev aka Mukud of Colors' Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon is on his way to achieving his long lived dream. The actor is about to set up his new venture which is away from acting. Manish will enter the hospitality world and open up food joints titled OYE across the city.

We contacted Manish who told Tellybuzz, " Yes I have opened the first outlet in Malad and the next is planned for Navi Mumbai. OYE is different as we will be serving 45 types of Sodas, 10 types of Softies and different kinds of floats and also for the first time any outlet will be serving 25 kinds of Maggi . I always wanted to start something on my own and something which can be called mine."
