Drashti's popularity helps, but it's not enough: Salman Yusuff

Mumbai, Aug 2 (IANS) Choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan and TV actress Drashti Dhami's performances have been greatly appreciated on "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6", but the former says that more than the popularity of a celebrity, dance acts are important.
In the earlier two seasons, he partnered actors Yana Gupta and Isha Sharvani, respectively, and they were not as popular as Drashti, but got recognition for their dance.
"On a show like this her (Drashti's) popularity does help. But in the last two seasons, Yana and Isha were not that famous, it was their performances, which made people like them. So it works both ways. Eventually people will see the performances and if we don't deliver, people will not accept it," Salman told IANS.
But at the same time, the choreographer admits that this season is gratifying.
"It has been great. In the last season everyone used to say that Isha is a dancer and she can do it. This season I feel more satisfied as a choreographer," he said and added despite teaming up with a non-dancer like Drashti "getting (good) scores is very satisfying".
The weekend show comes on Colors.
Salman has been choreographing for the show since the past three seasons and said that the "toughest" part is to bring novelty on the stage.
"It takes so much energy in conceptualising and coming up with new stuff. Right now I am in a blank situation. Sometimes a song, or a costume pushes the limit. I basically never play safe in terms of thinking or conceptualising," he said.

Ah! Now what would be more appropriate to call her- Geet or Madhubala? Well, she has done full justice to both the roles, and undoubtedly proven her acting skills in front of everyone. Drashti is amongst those few actors who have a huge and very huge fan following on small screen, and I am one of those for sure.



#7- Vivian Dsena

Ah! Now, what to say about this guy who is a complete package already. He got a break into television with Ekta Kapoor’s hit show Kasamh Se. later, he did Ganga on colors, and currently he is playing the role of R.K. in Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, on colors. His current show has made him reach a level where every actor aspires to reach.

"I am not looking forward to television for now"
says Arti Puri when we got in touch with her to know about her upcoming projects....



It has been quite a few days that the audience have not witnessed the presence of the pretty actress Arti Puri a.k.a Trishna in Saurabh Tiwari's Nautanki Films popular daily soap Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors. To find out about her absence from the screen we got in touch with her to know whether has she quit the show or her character has come to an end.

But well she had another story to say, "Well, I myself don't know whether I am still there in the show or not, but it is for sure that I have not quit the show and neither has my character come to an end. I don't know whether I will be shooting with them further or not because it has been quite a few days now that I have got any call from the production house on when I have to resume shooting for the show."

Did she not ask the production house about her character? "No I haven't asked the production house about the status of my character. I believe if there is a need for my character in the show further then they will call me back."

So will she resume shooting if they call her after some months? "Well that totally depends, if I again have to shoot only for a few episodes and they call me after some 3 to 4 months then I might not be interested."

Arti seems to be happy with her journey so far in the show and says, "This show is really good and has a crisp story line. The co-actors are very helpful and supportive. It was a great learning experience since I was doing television for the first time. I would also like to add that my character was very lively and I loved being a part of this show."

However, Arti seems to dis-interested in Television for now, "After Madhubala my focus is going to be only movies. Since my childhood I am doing movies, and till now I have done movies in 5 languages namely Kanada, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi and Hindi. After getting a lot of appreciation for my character in the Bollywood movie Ramaya Vasatavaiya, I am very much looking forward to do some more movies."
