Halit Ergenç: My country should not rush into the European Union

Tell us about your new role. How do you prepare to play the role of the Ottoman sultan, Suleyman the Magnificent?
- I read a lot about him. When you play a person from the past need to know everything about that time. As historians ... when writing books, it's like they lived at that time. On the other hand, in the series will be played over a century. And we must try also to recreate those characters to be understood by people who will watch it. The action takes place in th series. the sixteenth century, when the lifestyle and thinking were completely different from today. Do you know if this series will be aired in our country?
You never know. Nobody was expecting this series nor in terms of "1001 nights". The first time was broadcast in Turkey, and now here is a success. In general, the series about Suleyman the Magnificent is a serious project. We have all invested in it over time and, indeed, it would lose money if the show would be aired in other countries.

How did you choose this role?
I have to draw something when I read the script. To play, the character should I do, do not be fake. I just feel from the beginning.

Iz trgovačkog lanca Konzum za danas su najavili početak emitiranja svog novog reklamnog spota u kojem glume Halit Ergenc i Berguzar Korel, trenutačno vjerojatno najpopularniji strani glumci u Hrvatskoj.

Emitiranju cjelokupnog TV spota predstojalo je nekoliko dana emitiranja skraćene verzije kojom je najavljena cjelokupna Konzumova kampanja.

Dolazak ovog popularnog glumačkog para realizirao se na poziv Konzuma i bio je popraćen iznimnom pažnjom javnosti i njihovih obožavatelja, podsjećaju iz Konzuma.

U spotu je glavnu žensku ulogu odigrala hrvatska glumica Marijana Mikulić, koja se našla u ulozi obožavateljice Halita Ergenca – Ane i koja sanja večeru s njim uz violine i vino.
