“Black Money Love”, The new Turkish TV series that lands in Italy

In the "Fiction Fest di Roma" an Italian public has had the possibility to assist in the first episode of a Turkish TV series “Kara Para Ask” (Black Money Love), that in the future, could even land in our TV screens. With an average duration of 2 hours per episode, the program shows as main characters Elif, (Tuba Büyüküstün), the daughter of a businessman loved by all and the designer of her own line of famous products in Italy, and Ömer, (Engin Akyürek), a police officer with a great potential as a detective and declared a hero of the state, due to his efforts in destroying a criminal organisation.

Initially as strangers, both will be compelled by the death of her father and his fiancée that mysteriously have found each other in the same car. They will collaborate with each other to solve the mystery of who could have killed their loved ones, most importantly to discover the reason behind it.

Although the duration of each episode, initially might frighten anyone watching it, the optimal managed story and the good performance from the actors, make the viewers forget the time spent at the screens and grant the public’s satisfaction of having been able to enjoy an original and well researched entertainment production.

From the technical point of view, there are some inaccuracies that are likely to annoy the viewer. Excessive use of slow-down, which in some instances are almost more comic rather than dramatic, and the duration of many too long close-ups, although the actors are able to pull it off without any problems, the stress of having to maintain the same expression, is likely to confuse the public more often during the episode, thus preventing a complete understanding of the scene and its significance.
