Becoming a star, a sensation overnight is not as easy as it sounds. And in a industry like that of Hindi Television Serials and Shows, the task becomes all the more hard. However there is always one show that takes an actor to super stardom, a show that places the actors in the big league.

TellyTadka brings you some of the superstars of TV-pur and the shows that made them the star they are today.

Barun Sobti: In an Industry where you go unnoticed and are eventually forgotten if your first show is a flop, this young actor defied the usual convention and rose to super-stardom in no time.

Delhi dude Barun Sobti’s debut Shraddha on Star Plus (2009) may have been a big flop but the actor catapulted tobstardom with Star Plus Iss Pyaar Ko Kyaa Naam Doon? (2011) making him the biggest Television sensation the country has ever seen and placing him in the big league.

The rich, arrogant, constantly brooding angry-young man is a tried and tested formula and one that we’ve seen a zillion times; however Arnav Singh Raizada was prime time TV’s first hero who was borderline between negative and positive. Though a Star Plus hero Barun’s character required him to do some not so hero stuffs like break off the dori of the female character’s blouse, hang her in mid air and eventually drop her instead of pulling her back etc. When such is the sketch it’s easy to go off balance and become a colossal anti-hero but the fine tuning, ease and flawlessness with which Barun played Arnav made him the ultimate hero.

Lead actors quitting shows is not new and even if they do it does not have disastrous effects; however Barun’s depiction of Arnav Singh Raiaza went on to create such frenzy that when the actor decided to quit the show the channel decided to pull off the plug on the show which was a first in the history of Indian television.

Barun was never the first choice to play Arnav but as they say ‘Destiny has a way of finding you’ and here it did. Barun gained unequalled fame and immense success for his portrayal of ASR and also went on to win ‘Best Actor’ for this role at two of the most prestigious awards ceremonies.

Even today fans expectantly wait for the return of this amazing actor only to experience the magic that he creates when gracing our TV screens. We too really hope he does return and soon!!!

The makers of Main Aur Mr. Riight have launched an interesting teaser for the film. Main Aur Mr. Riight stars actress Shenaz Treasurywala and television heartthrob Barun Sobti in lead roles. The teaser shows the duo playfully speaking about their characters, teasing the audience about what they can expect from the film.

Main Aur Mr. Riight is a slice of life film which talks about love, relationships and singlehood. It is a story of Aliya and Sukhi who are polar opposites. The film is a hilarious take on people and their perception of their ‘Mr. Riight’.

Directed by Adeeb Rais and produced by Pooja Gujral and Aseem Rais, Main Aur Mr. Riight is presented by Madmidass films. The music has been given by renowned singer/musician Bappi Lahiri. The movie is slated to release on 12 December, 2014.

Apparently, Madmidaas Films released the trailer of Main Aur Mr. Riight (MAMR)- Barun’s debut movie on silver screen, which instantaneously impressed his fans, also managing to pull off a significant portion of non-TV audiences who haven’t been his fans beforehand. The trailer is being referred as an extremely good one in the genre in Bollywood after a long time. Audiences specially have liked the rushes of Barun’s on screen character Sukhwinder Singh aka Sukhi and his comic andaz. It seems Barun, yet again, has done a tremendously incredible work as the carefree, clumsy, foodie and loudmouth character of Sukhi, all with his perfectionist skills at performing on the camera. Moreover, going by the trailer, the team of MAMR, though, a new one altogether have succeeded in hitting the nail right.

It feels director Adeeb Rais has brought out best from Barun Sobti and Shehnaz Treasurywala as well as the rest of the supporting cast. The positive response to the trailer received from all over ensures that the huge jump of TV’s sensational star to 70mm screen is going to be bang on. Considering the mass hysteria Barun Sobti creates every time with even a slightest of public appearance, we can certainly expect that Bollywood is on the way of getting its Mr. Right- the one next big star, where the film MAMR plays an invaluable role of the path maker.
