The time has come for revenge

Murat Yildirim, Ash Enver, Sarp Akkava. Guven Murat Akpinar & Tugay Mercan share the lead in the new series "Suskunlar" which with its premiere last week became the most talked about event of the day on the social media networks. Four youngsters from the neighborhood of ICuyudibr make an innocent mistake which changes their lives forever. With this in mind we asked Murat Yildirim why this series has

• With the premiere the series received overwhelming response on the social media network...Some saw the similarities with the series "Ezel"...

- The feeling of similarity maybe there, the screenplay writer after all in the writer of the series "Ezel"...so therefore here style is obvious. As for the response from the viewers; the first episode took exactly 22 days to tape...to receive the positive response was very encouraging.

*For those who were not able to watch the first episode could you eaplain your character Ecevit to them?

- Ecevit was a child who was abused by Ins father...After the accident which left a man disabled he was sent with Ins four friends to a Juvenile Detention Center, where he was once again abused. After such exposure to abuse he decides that he want to become a man of the law, to be able to protect the innocent. He was successful in Ins desires and becomes a lawyer. But he was never able to forget Ins tormented childhood....

* In preparation for this character it has been said that you seeked help from a physiologist...

- Die writer had documentation of such instances. Using this information we did consult with a physiologist, this is true... and of course this was very difficult . I am hopeful that with this in mind, we are able to bring to life the reality of such situations. Entrapment by the Producer & Writer * It has been said that the plot of the series comes from the movie "Sleepers, is this true?

-Actually it is more like the novel "Brotherhood'. The plot of the original movie was also derived from this novel. If a novel could be made into a movie, then a movie can be made into a series. Die starting point and the thought process is the same true. However, the series will have its own storyline worked into it.

* The story attracted the viewers. If you could give a short briefing on where the plot goes from here?

- The time has come to seek revenge! This is true for all the characters...of course there will also be romance; but the story is unique in the sense that there are surprises within surprises that will surface. I do not want to go into too much detail and spoil those surprises. But I can say tins must, I am extremely proud to be involved in such a production.

* What were your thoughts when first reading the scenario?

- Actually both the producer and writer entrapped me! They sat on either side of me and wanted to watch me read the scenario in their presence. I could not turn my head in either direction for fear that they would see my tears....I asked to be excused for five minutes, the abuse that the children suffered at the detention center was extremely heart wrenching. This type of situation is totally unacceptable; I am hopeful that this series brings to light these types of situations.
The Scene in the Bathroom was extremely difficult

* During the first episode there was a scene where Ecevit was sitting on the floor in the bathroom and he is approached by his girlfriend asking him to please explain what they did to you....But Ecevit is reliving that nightmare in his mind and cannot talk about it. This scene was the most talked about on Twitter
- Actually if you think about it these are not the type of situations that are ever discussed, the remain within. Therefore it is physiologically difficult. It was an extremely difficult feeling.

*How were you able to perform the scene so effectively?

- At that moment I concentrated on an event in my own persona, and was able to effectively perform that scene. I was concentrating an event that is personal to me from my own childhood.

• The trailers for this series is being subtitled on some Arab Channels; were you aware of this?

- Yes this is happening in the Arab world as well as in the Balkans. These are very nice things. It is something our nation should be proud of. There are also some interesting responses from these areas as well.

* Interesting for sure...We have also heard rumors that fans front the are coming to see you on your birthday....

- This is very nice, but I am not a person who celebrates birthdays, of course if they come I will be humbled.
I want to portray a vagabond in a movie

* You set includes a majority of male performers...how do you spend time on the set? Playstation, discussing football?

- While I do own a playstation at home, I do not bring it to the set. I know that if we start that we will get so involved. This is not necessary. There are so many things we can talk about. We prefer to have tea and converse.

*Are there any plans for a movie in the near future?

- There were plans for last summer and this past January. One was the Yilmaz Erdogan movie "Bagobozumu", however it was cancelled. Die other due to unforeseen circumstances I could not participate. But I am hoping that there will be one this summer. Truthfully, I really want to portray a vagabond in a movie.

*J this because one exists inside of you if you don't mind my asking?

- I do not know that, but if I am presented with that type of characterization portrayal I would be interested.

- Yes this is true, but I do not think that they were interested in the Presidents request for other reasons. Yes, I have let my hair grow in but I cannot get used to it

*Daring this time you let your hair grow in right? - Yes, it makes for a better appearance under these circumstances * Have you gotten used to it?

- No I have not. I do not like to spend time in front of the mirror, but with this hair there are things that need to be done. I cannot leave it unattended and go out. I have to spend time to straighten it. I am not accustomed to doing this therefore it is strange for me.

* You really do not spend any time in front of a mirror?

- I have always kept my hair short not to spend time in front of the mirror. They usually use a number 3 clipper, I normally just take my shower in the morning and go out.
