Why are Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani not a part of the Box Cricket League 2014?

Over 150 television celebrities are a part of the cricket league, but we wonder why the popular faces didn’t join in with the rest?

The first season of Box Cricket League had six teams, but this year as the concept became bigger so did the count. BCL went from six teams to eight this year. We got in touch with the brain behind BCL – Sunny Arora from Marinating Films to find out why we didn’t bring in stars like Drashti Dhami, Sanaya Irani, Gautam Rode, Karanvir Bohra in these matches. He said, “BCL has become very popular. In fact this year Karanvir Bohra approached us ‘coz he wanted to buy a team, but all the teams were taken. We still have about 30 other actors who still want to be a part of BCL, but we have no more spots left.”

So wouldn’t bringing in names like Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani add value to the show? “The captain and the owner of the teams decide the players. When we started off BCL, I called my friends Nivedita Basu, Vishal Singh, Anand Mishra, Kamya Punjabi and I became the owners. They in turn roped in their friends in the team. As for Sanaya and Drashti, I do not know these girls personally and maybe the owners don’t know them personally either. The teams formed now are purely based on friendship. Maybe if Karanvir was there, he would have roped them in.”

Well if not this year, we hope in the next year both Drashti and Sanaya will develop interest in the sport as well. What do you think BollywoodLifers?

Actors and the show that placed them in the ‘BIG LEAGUE’ -3 : Vivian Dsena

Majority of the actors in the industry believe that it’s the ‘aam junta’ who truly hold the power to make or break them and the show they are a part of.

Well if that is the scenario then we can say without a shadow of doubt that audiences all over the globe have open heartedly loved and accepted Vivian Dsena the amazingly talented actor who breathed life into the larger than life character of RK aka Rishabh Kundra, thereby making Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon the show that brought him a one way ticket to super-stardom.

Vivian’s on screen persona of a Bollywood Superstar with an inimitable chutzpah and ego aided with dialogues to die for made the character an instant hit from day one. What made Vivian’s portrayal of RK memorable is the unpredictability he brought into the character thereby making it entertaining and alluring episode after episode. Most characters end up being monotonous and thus boring however the same can’t be said for RK all thanks to Vivian Dsena.

Ever wondered if Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon would have gained the popularity that it did, had the producers of the show taken the advice of others and not roped in Vivian Dsena because they latter lot believed that VD is a wooden-faced actor and wouldn’t be able to pull off the character of RK? I guess not. The role was tailor made for VD and his portrayal of RK placed him in the big leagues and also won him awards and accolades.

When the makers decided to take a leap of 20 years, Vivian exited from the show only to be brought back because somewhere it was apparent that MEIEJ was incomplete without him and it was and is still kinda impossible to imagine the show without him.

I am chilling and loving it right now

Drashti Dhami who did a short stint with anchoring Jhalak after her fiction show Madhubala...is currently enjoying her time at home watching movies, meeting friends and enjoying the time away from work. She says, "I am chilling and loving it because I am doing this after a long time. I watch movies all day, sleep well and meet friends. I go out for dinner and I am also planning to go on a holiday. I am getting offers for newer TV shows but haven't signed anything yet."

We asked Drashti, about the constant speculation about her marriage to Neeraj Khemka and she says, "No comments."
