The story of popular TV show "Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon" will take a leap forward by a few years in February, and it will lose its male lead Vivian Dsena, who plays the role of superstar Rishabh Kundra aka R.K.

However, the show will introduce new characters.

"Come February, 'Madhubala - Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon', will undergo a leap. The leap will be a natural progression which will present a fresh storyline and perspective to the strong audience base who have loved the show and watched it consistently since it first launched," a spokesperson for Colors said in a statement.

"As is norm, we will see the inclusion of new characters following the leap who will support the show's story as it moves forward," the spokesperson added.

Though the channel has not said anything about Vivian leaving the show, the actor took to micro-blogging website Twitter to reveal that he is quitting the show.

"Hey guys the news you all have heard is unfortunately 100 percent true. 'Madhubala' is taking a leap and I won't be a part of it after the leap," he tweeted Wednesday.

He has thanked his fans for loving him and his character in the show.

"Guys thanks a ton...R.K. was never possible without you guys. Whatever I am today is only because of you all. Don't worry I will be back with a bang," Vivian added.

Mumbai: Colors' most popular show, "Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon", is going to add a new twist for the viewers, as it is reported that soon the makers of the show will take a leap forward by a few years in February.

A source close to the channel said that coming February, "Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon", will undergo a leap. The leap will be a natural progression which will present a fresh storyline and perspective to the strong audience base who have loved the show and watched it consistently since it first launched.

"As is norm, we will see the inclusion of new characters following the leap that will support the show's story as it moves forward," they added.

A little birdie tells us that it is because of Vivian’s starry tantrums that the production house decided to bring his role to an end. A source was quoted by a leading daily as saying, “That is not the only reason. We just felt the need for a new track. However, had he taken lesser leaves, the results would have been better.”

The makers are firm on their stand saying that the love story between RK andMadhubala had taken its course and now it was time for some new track. Yes, we think that the leap will add freshness to the whole story otherwise it will continue to be yet another run of the mill show. The show Madhubala has become a brand now so we need to do justice to the brand too. Whether it will work or not, only time will tell.

The show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon as well as the lead actors - Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami had a huge fan following who will now be disappointed with their favorite actor not being a part of the show anymore.

I know we have loyal fans watching the show and every move that we make but only that is not sufficient for the show to work well since we have other benchmarks. However, we are currently working on making the show more interesting by adding new characters which will add edginess to the drama of the love story so that we don't lose the DNA of the show. Talking about Vivian, let me tell you that he is a very good friend and we had a good working relationship too. We are planning a leap with some drama to show as to how everyone will disappear which will be real high drama. Drashti will fit in as RK and Madhu's young daughter who will be shown as a young girl post the 20 year leap.

And any further news on who will play the male main lead post the leap?

For the male main lead post the leap we are looking at a known face with a good fan following. It will definitely not be a new face at all. As of now we have not gone ahead and shortlisted anyone but we should soon be making an announcement.

Certain section of the media reported that Vivian Dsena, after moving out of Colors’ Madhubala, has gone on to sign a show with Ekta Kapoor (Balaji Telefilms) which will air on Zee TV, and apparently replace her other ongoing show on the channel, Pavitra Rishta.

The article claimed that the show will have a plot similar to that of the movie Raajneeti, and Vivian will be seen playing the role of a happy go lucky scion from a political family.

However, in a chat with Tellychakkar.com, Vivian has gone on to deny any such development and said that he has not heard of any such show being made and he has received no casting call from Balaji.

“I am still shooting for Madhubala and have not decided anything on my next career move as of now,” said Vivian.

The story also mentioned that Ragini Khanna, Akanksha Singh and Nia Sharma were front runners to bag the role of the female lead.

When we spoke to Ragini, she too said that the story is a mere rumour.

Nia and Akanksha remained unavailable.

Furthermore, we also checked with a credible source from Balaji Telefilms who averred that no such show is in the pipeline as of now.

KRK's track to end as RK-Madhu re-unite in Colors' Madhubala



The days of the Superstar RK, essayed by the popular Vivian Dsena are surely numbered in Saurabh Tewari’s Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors. While the countdown to the huge drama of RK being bumped off has begun, viewers will probably get to see their loved pair of RK and Madhu (Drashti Dhami) re-uniting and finding romance in each others’ arms for one last time.

Well, as per the ongoing track, Madhu has got to know of the real RK being in trouble. KRK who is guilty of his doings has promised Madhu that he will help her in her mission to get RK back.

So how will Madhu and KRK go about their plan?

We hear that KRK will notify Madhu of Bhujang and Kuku’s (Raza Murad) plan of making RK run away from jail, and to kill him once he is out. Now Madhu and KRK will play along with Bhujang and Kuku, but they will make their own convenient changes to the plan.

RK as planned, will be taken out of the jail premises, only to be driven in a car to a remote place. The idea of Bhujang will be to kill RK at the lonely place where he will be dropped at. However, Madhu will very tactfully play the ‘swap’ game again, and take along with her the real RK, thus leaving KRK at the place where Bhujang will appear.

Our source tells us that after a huge drama, all will be well, with both Bhujang and Kuku being put behind bars. RK and Madhu will re-unite while they will thank KRK from the bottom of their hearts for all the help he has done to get them back together. Thus will end the duplicate KRK’s track,

We hear that the makers plan to bring in some nice romantic moments between RK and Madhu before they get to the major track of RK getting killed.

His sudden exit from the show Madhubala caused quite a stir and even though he has no other offer in hand, the actor is not least bit nervous and plans to come back with better performances to entertain the audience albeit after a break!


He is still busy shooting for the show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and in between shots Vivian Dsena talks to us about the recent development which will mark his exit from the show. Sounding not one bit anxious the superstar RK is in fact in a relaxed mode as he casually drawls, "I actually had never expected the show to do so well initially when it had started but it was a success and has given me lots of popularity. These things happen."

What was your reaction to the news of your character not being part of the show after the leap?

I was obviously surprised but then I am a practical person so I thought about it and realized that it was a good decision taken for the betterment of the show. The chemistry between RK and Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) was amazing but then it had been exploited from all possible angles so a leap was planned. After the leap, with my image of a superstar it was not possible for me to play a father to a 25 year old since the audience would not have accepted it since in real life too I myself am 25 years. So it was a mutual decision between the makers Nautanki Films and me since they thought that to pull up the ratings they wanted a fresh new story.

There have been shows earlier too where the important character has made a comeback from the dead due to public demand. What if the same happens with RK?

Just like earlier shows where the characters come back from the dead it might happen with RK too if the story demands it but that will be a decision taken at that moment itself. As an actor I respect the writer and the creators of the show a lot and totally trust them to do the best for the show.

What next? Will we see you doing another show on Colors?

My contract with Colors expires the moment I am out of the show so I am open to working with any other production house or channel but till now I haven't got any call for any other show, not even from Ekta Kapoor which has been wrongly reported. I also want to tell you that there are no other plans in place and I have no other show or film in hand and I did not quit Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon for some other exciting offer. I am empty handed at the moment.

However, God has always been kind and there are things in the pipeline and I am open to doing TV and Films both. If something in films materializes then which actor would not want to do it? I have played a superstar on a popular TV show and eventually would want to be a superstar in real life too.

You had tweeted about coming back with a bang so your fans expected you to make another announcement soon.

I don't want to disappoint any fan of mine and thus I had said that I will be back with a bang since obviously I will be back. As an actor this is my profession and more than that it is my passion which will make me give better and better entertaining performances henceforth too. I have evolved as an actor from being Vivky Walia in Kasamh Se to RK and would want to grow further.


I want to tell all my fans that I love them a lot. Along with the writers and the creative team of Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon it is they who have made me so popular and I owe a lot to them.

So you will take a break now.

Yes, I will take a break for a month or so before focusing back on work. In the past couple of years due to my work commitments I have not been able to give as much time to my family or my wife Vahbbiz Dorabjee Dsena so that is my first priority now. I may either go to Ujjain to be with family or call them here to stay with me for some time. I am also planning to spend more time with Vahbbiz who has been my biggest support. She has been my backbone and has always understood the demands of my profession completely.

Also on my to-do list is my plan to lose weight and become fit again. I didn't have time to concentrate on my body which is something I want to do again. I also love to play football which is something I have done professionally too earlier. I am a National level football player and I have participated in all India tournament. I plan to go back to the game now that I have the time.

Indresh Malik 'wept his heart out' when he learnt about Vivian's exit from Madhubala



The news of Vivian Dsena calling it quits from Colors’ Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Nautanki Telefilms) has definitely broken a lot of hearts and the most affected on the set of the show happens to be Vivian’s co-star and friend Indresh Malik.

Indresh best known as Bittuji in the show, has shot most of his scenes with Vivian being his on-screen manager. Hence, when he first heard about Vivian’s exit he couldn’t believe the news. And when the feeling finally sunk in, he couldn’t hold on to his tears.

“I find it hard to say a goodbye. That is why when I learnt about Vivian moving out I cried. We have been like brothers on the sets. In fact I’ve always felt that we have some karmic connection. I am extremely fond of him and I am going to miss him immensely,” avers the actor with a heavy heart.

“I took him out on dinner the minute I learnt about him moving out. I think it’s a natural tendency to hold on to people who are close and are about to leave you,” says he.
