Fenil Umrigar as Aisha Kapoor in Madhubala!

With the recent new entries in Colors TV’s Madhubala, viewers will witness yet an other entry. With Abhay Kapoor’s (Gunjan Utreja) family being introduced in the show, a new parallel lead will be shown.

It was earlier reported that actress Fenil Umrigar will enter the show as Abhay Kapoor’s wife, but this has apparently been changed.

Fenil will be entering the show as Aisha Kapoor, who is the sister of Abhay Kapoor. Aisha is Abhay’s over pampered sister, she is a spoilt brat, but an innocent kid at heart.

Aisha has been protected and has never faced any problems in her life, she is grown up with a silver spoon. Aisha will be shown being very positive.

When we got in touch with Fenil Umrigar, she told “Yes I am entering the show tonight. My character name is Aisha, who is Abhay’s sister. Aisha is totally a kid and very innocent. I have shot so far for 2 days and the atmosphere is totally enthusiastic and positive”.

Fenil Umrigar will be seen in the show from tonight.

Drashti is pretty, intelligent and an energetic performer: Gunjan Utreja

Popular TV host Gunjan Utreja (Aamna Saamna) is suddenly hogging all the limelight with journos from all across the country vying for his time and attention. They all want to talk to him, learn about him, and let the world know about Gunjan, the person and actor. And he deserves all the attention and flashlights for after a lot of hard work and perseverance, the man got roped in to play the new male lead in Colors one of the most popular ongoing shows, Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Nautanki Telefilms).

For many, his casting came as an unusual shock, for he is someone who stayed far far away from the world of daily soaps. His giving a professional nod to Madhubala, stepping into the shoes of popular Vivian Dsena and shouldering the responsibility of taking the legacy forward, was appreciated by many while others looked upon with doubt and hesitation. But as they, fortune favours the brave and Gunjan, with his skills and patience, will conquer the greatest of heights, is what we believe.

In a freewheeling conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Gunjan talks about his journey as AK (his character name) so far, his rapport with beautiful co-star Drashti Dhami and much more. Excerpts.

How has the response been so far?

Well, let me be honest with you. I have hit a hectic schedule ever since I’ve was confirmed to play Abhay Kapoor. I was in Delhi when they finalized me to play this role and had to rush in to commence shooting for Madhubala. Since then, my schedule sounds something like this… I go to the gym at 5 am, then I go for the shoot and then get back home and rest. The feeling of such a big turnaround in my life is yet to sink in. But I must admit that I am genuinely honoured to be a part of such a successful show as its lead. People have been comparing me with Vivian (Dsena) and comparisons were bound to happen. But one must bear in mind that the most beautiful flowers come with thorns. But at the same time there are many who have sent me lovely messages and congratulated me for bagging this role.

Vivian’s fans have been bashing you on social networking sites. How do you take it?

Initially, it was more like ‘what did I do?’ (laughs) But then I think it’s a reward of Vivian’s work. The audiences liked him so much that they can also point a knife at someone for him. And I am sure that AK will also have an army of similar fans (winks). I believe that criticisms and compliments always come together. If there are 100 who want to pull you down, there will at least be that one person who’d want to pull you up. I would like to look out for that one person.

In an interview once you had said that you’d never take up a daily soap. Why the switch?

(Pauses) Look, I was a part of Chhajje Chhajje Kaa Pyaar on Sony Entertainment Television which went off-air in three months and from then on the shows that I was being offered were similar. There was nothing new for me to do and that’s when Zindagi Ki Haqeeqat Se Aamna Saamna happened. Since the show was a big platform for me, post that project, I wanted to do something that would involve 100 per cent or more of my effort. And Madhubala is that show. I’ve just completed six episodes and in this period there was a lot of confusion regarding my character. A lot of people felt that I replaced RK which isn’t true. But that’s when comparisons started and I am fine with that as even SRK wasn’t spared when he acted in Devdas and Don. I am too small in front of him.

Don’t all the fan comparisons mean that they are missing Vivian as RK?

He worked on the show for one and a half years to get the three lakh fan following on Facebook. However, a lot of people like the writers, director and the creatives were involved in making that role this important. But he opted out to explore better avenues and I that he succeeds in life.

Do you believe in the saying that the writer is always the real hero?

(Smiles) This is how I look at it. Even if the content is good, a bad actor can spoil it. But even if it’s an average content, a powerful actor can make it look spectacular. I am not justifying who is big. It’s just that what exactly makes a dialogue like ‘Aaj khush toh bahut hui hogi tum’ this popular. For me it’s the entire build-up of the character by the writers as well as Mr. Bachchan’s performance. If an actor takes most of the credit, the criticism also comes to him.

How is your equation with co-star Drashti Dhami?

She has done a lot of work on TV. In fact most of her shows have stayed on TV for at least two years and one can say that she is the queen of TV in terms of acting. She is pretty, intelligent and an energetic performer. I simply look at her as my mentor as she knows everything from lights to camera while on the sets. Luckily people like our pairing. We have been together on-screen in a couple of scenes and the response has been overwhelming so far.

A lot of people believe that Drashti is too snooty. Have you ever observed the same?

As an actor there is this constant pressure to perform with just four to six hours of sleep. So, it’s not that actors are just laughing and doing their job. In such a situation if you keep to yourself, you’re not snooty. As far as I am concerned, Drashti is extraordinarily sweet to me. So the person who thinks of her otherwise has definitely had some kind of a miscommunication.

What do we get to see next of AK?

Let me first say that AK is not married. A lot of people believe that he is married but he is pretty much single. And now that Madhu is his secretary, they will get to see love-love and love-hate relationship evolving between the two.

Where do you see this role taking you?

Well, I’ve been the most searched TV actor in the past few days and people obviously want to know about me. On a serious note I have traveled around the world and have fans that have been associated with me for a long time now. Hence, my association with Madhubala has got a few new audiences and I must say that they love the characters. So, for now I am looking at each and every character being appreciated by the audiences just like Sholay. We even know Mausi. So, it’s just been six episodes; give me 50 more for miracles don’t happen in a day.

"I will make life hell for all of them!" - Ada Khan
The festival of Holi will bring unusual colors of emotions for all in the form of Ada Khan who comes into Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.

Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon which is taking the story forward after the leap is still introducing new characters to add spice and make it more interesting. Now that the main leads Abhay Kapoor (Gunjan Utreja) and Madhu (Drashti Dhami) are settled in the stories it is time for some more new entries

As per our source Reshma Khan who is also known as Ada Khan will be shown entering the show at the end of this week. "Ada Khan's entry will bring a very interesting twist to the story. She will be enter as Ananya's (Kishwer Merchant) friend and will be supported by Pam (Deepshikha Nagpal). She knows Abhay Kapoor but has not been on such good terms with him earlier. However, now with a plan in mind she will come to meet the family and in the process come close to Abhay," says our source.

In fact her entry has been planned in a very dramatic manner and the current track which will show the upcoming Holi festival will be used to make it even more interesting. "Ada will enter when the Holi celebrations are on making the story more colorful. With her coming in and trying to get close to Abhay, there will be a lot of changes in the way Abhay and Madhu interact with each other," concludes the source.

When we spoke to Ada Khan she sounded excited on the first day of her shoot for the show and said, "I am Ananya's childhood friend and will be coming to help my friend. At the same time I am shown to be an opportunist who has her own reasons to be what she is and there are many surprises in store as her story unfolds. It is an out and out negative character who is intelligent and glamorous too. My character Tamanna is shown to be coming back from US where she has been staying for couple of years now. It will be a very colorful Holi entry where everyone even Madhu will be present, and I will ensure that I create a hell for all of them with my presence!"

Well, this is something that the audience will be eager to watch out for.

Sanaya Irani beats Drashti Dhami to become the No 1 television heroine!

Sanaya Irani, who is currently doing Rangrasiya on Colors, has topped the charts as the No. 1 heroine in Tellyland. On Friday, we pit Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani against each other to know who was more popular, a better actor, more stylish and who had the best chemistry with their respective beaus.

Frankly, we had thought that Drashti was the ideal candidate and would win hands down, and the votes on Friday clearly indicated that. However, over the weekend, things changed and Sanaya topped the votes.

In the category of who is the better actor we received about 2659 votes. It was a close competition, Sanaya won with 1385 votes while Drashti got 1274.

Well we always knew Ms Irani was stylish, so weren’t surprised when she got about 1126 votes and Ms Dhami had only 860 votes in her kitty.

Sanaya and her boyfriend Mohit Sehgal look great together. Their show Miley Jab Hum Tum is a proof of that. From a total of 1686 votes, Drashti and Neeraj Khemka got only 422 votes, while Sanaya and Mohit received 1264 votes.

In the overall category of what makes a No 1 heroine, it’s obvious that Sanaya would win this one too hands down. We received about 2217 votes and Sanaya won by 103 votes when compared to Drashti.

With these, Sanaya beat Drashti in the race and emerged as a clear winner.

Madhu To Mistakenly Put Up A Matrimonial Ad For Abhay In Colors “Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon”

Saurabh Tewari’s show “Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon” is all set for a big messwhere Madhu(Drashti Dhami) will goof up with an ad campaign of Abhay(Gunjan Utreja) to be published in a newspaper.

The whole story will start when Abhay will decide to put up anew business and will hand over an ad content to Nikhil(Puneet Sachdev) for buying a land in the newspaper.

On the other hand, Bebe(Neelu Kohli) is eager to get Abhay married and she will request Madhu to design an appropriate matrimonial for him so that they can put on to the internet.

Bebe will also make it clear that she will hand over the matrimonial ad written on a paper to Ayesha(Fenil Umrigar) who will further put it on to the internet. But here, Madhu will get confused when Nikhil will hand over that business ad to her but she will in turn send that matrimonial ad to the newspaper which will create big drama in the show.

This track will definitely be a laugh riot as Bebe will be very excited to see Abhay’s matrimonial ad in newspaper while Abhay and Madhu will be unaware abut this. Nikhil will be the only man who will realize that Madhu has done a big goof up.

In no time, the Kapoor mansion will be full of girls and parents who will come to marry Abhay after seeing the matrimonial. Bebe will interview the girls and meanwhile she will call up Abhay that he has got an overwhelming response from newspaper.

The climax will happen when Madhu and Abhay will step into the Kapoor mansion. As per sources, Leela(Swati Anand) will also come with her daughter Sweety for this marriage alliance with Abhay.

Madhu's 'goof-up' to put Abhay in a spot of 'humourous' bother in Colors' Madhubala

There will be ‘comedy of errors’ of sorts in Saurabh Tewari’s Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors when there will be a major confusion regarding a particular ad that Abhay Kapoor (Gunjan Utreja) would place in a leading newspaper.

The fun riot will start when Abhay will hand over the content for an ad to Nikhil (Puneet Sachdev) to look for a proper space to set up his new business. Meanwhile, Bebe (Neelu Kohli) will ask Madhu (Drashti Dhami) to frame a proper matrimonial ad for Abhay to be put on internet. Bebe will ask Madhu to give the content written on a piece of paper to Ayesha (Fenil Umrigar) so that she can put it up on internet. However, Madhu will goof up when Nikhil will also hand over the ad content to buy a commercial space to Madhu, to be put up in paper. Madhu will by mistake pick the matrimonial ad and send it to be put in the paper.

A source informs us that the consequence of this goof-up done by Madhu will bring in a humorous track. While on one hand, Bebe will be extremely happy and glad that Abhay has put up a matrimonial ad for himself in paper, Abhay will be completely clueless about it. He will be under the impression that the ad for the commercial space has been put up, and Madhu will also assume the same. Only Nikhil will realize that a major confusion has been created, and the wrong ad has been put up.
In no time, the Kapoor mansion will be filled with beautiful girls aspiring to get married to Abhay, along with their respective parents. An excited Bebe will inform Abhay about his ad getting a good response with people flocking his house. She will get ready to interview the girls when Abhay along with Madhu will get inside the house.

We also hear that seeing the ad, Leela (Swati Anand) will also come along with her daughter Sweety to Abhay’s place.

This track is said to be a laugh riot as Abhay will start to talk with the prospective clients for the space they will be selling out, without any clue of they having come to get their daughters married.

How will Abhay get to know of the confusion? Will this be the last day at work at Abhay’s house for Madhu?
