Drashti Dhami Puts Movie Offers On Hand: “I’ve Taken This On As A Challenge”

No movie career for Drashti Dami for at least one more year. Plans to embark on her large-screen career have been put on hold after Drashti’s decision to co-host Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
“It is just not possible. Between my daily soap Madhubala and now this new job of hosting Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa I have no time for anything else. I don’t even get to take a day off. In the last six months I only got time off for new years eve and my birthday on January 10. I see no way I can fit in a movie at the moment. And I don’t want to take on something so major unless I’m absolutely sure I’ve enough time for it.”
Although Drashti Dhami has taken the task of co-hosting the 7th season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa she has yet to meet Ranvir Shorey who hosts the show with her.
Says Drashti, “I guess we’re both very busy with our careers. I am yet to meet Ranvir. But I know he’s fantastic with his quips and repartees whereas it is the first time as a host for me.So yeah, I am nervous.”
Drashti would be meeting up with Ranvir soon. “We need to establish a comfort level between us before the show begins.”
About the challenge of hosting the show Drashti says, “I’ve to admit I am nervous.Last year I won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. This year I am hosting it. That sounds like two big challenges on the same show for me for two consecutive years. To be honest it wasn’t my idea. It was the channel’s idea. I took it on because it’s always a good idea to keep trying to stretch one’s abilities.”
Drashti’s serial Madhubala has completed two years. She expresses great pride in being part of it. “I am the only actor who has been in the serial from the beginning till now. I don’t see the serial ending in the near future. I’m happy to see it go on. It has got me recognition. I won’t give it up until it wraps up.”

Interview: Drashti gets Best Actress Award
Madhubala continues to rule the hearts of millions including the critics and that is the reason why she won the Best Actress Critics award in the recently concluded 7th Gold Awards 2014.
Drashti Dhami who has been playing Madhubala for close to three years now was very excited to receive the award for one of her favorite role Madhubala. “It is an amazing feeling to be awarded for the role which has been very close to my heart. It becomes all the more special that I got it from the Critics. I hope to continue doing good work” she said.
Drashti Dhami enjoys a humongous fan following all over the world and all her fans are super happy and excited for their favorite Drashti. They all have congratulated and wished her through tweets. “I think all the people who like me out there; I owe my success to them. They all have been so kind and encouraging. They have always given me strength for doing good work” she concluded.
