TV stars dont bank on TRPs

The popularity quotient of soapbox heartthrobs doesnt depend on the numbers their shows fetch in the TRP charts

Small screen stardom is not directly proportional to the popularity of the prime time shows.Ram Kapoor,Ronit Roy,Sakshi Tanwar,Barun Sobti,Mona Singh,Vivian Dsena,Mohit Raina,Harshad Chopra,Gurmeet Choudhary,Karan Tacker,Sanaya Irani darling of the masses,favourite with advertisers enjoy enviable fan following and take home hefty pay cheques,but star in shows that are not among the top 10 TRP toppers in the strictest sense (Ram and Sakshi being the odd exceptions when on some weeks when their show climbs the ratings scale).While shows that are high on TRPs Diya Aur Baati Hum,Balika Vadhu - Kacchi Umar ke Pakke Rishte,Saath Nibhaana Saathiya,Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,Sasural Simar Ka,Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,CID,Crime Patrol: Dastak and Pavitra Rishta dont have stars in the lead roles.So are stars really required to amp up the TRPs,considering most channels /production houses want to sign them up for their screen offerings
No star comes with a guarantee that s/he will make a show successful.S o m e t i m e s the stories demand a k n ow n face,and stars are cast.The real star of the show is the content, says producer Sumeet Mittal of Punar Vivaah and Diya Aur Bati Hum,who feels show TRPs are not dictated by starry presence.
Show makers feel that good content and meaningful scripts make shows popular.Producer Rajan Shahi of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai says,There are certain actors whom we can define as TV stars because of their talent,charisma and connect with audiences.But just casting a star in a show does not mean they will fetch TRPs.Even newcomers can rake in TRPs if the storyline is strong.Content is the king. Producer Nikhil Sinha of the high TRP-puller Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev says,When it comes to television very rarely can a star carry a show on his/her shoulders,but a show with good storyline not only fetches TRPs,but also makes stars.
Vivian Dsena whose Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon isnt high on TRPs is an established star.Says Vivian,I am receiving good feedback from my fans,but TRPs can go up only as a collective effort from the entire team. Actor Gurmeet Chowdhary of Punar Vivaah says,Its wrong to say that TRPs and stardom are not connected.TRPs make a star! A star has his/her own fan following and the audience will definitely watch their shows. Its evident that power-packed performances and solid storyline give soaps the necess a r y push and a heavy duty star cast is i n c i - d e n t a l.While TV superstars bring in viewers to a show and help generate hype,in the long run,numbers do matter because they dictate the survival of a show!

Madhubala LEAVES RK's HOUSE & BIG TWIST in Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon

Recently a lot of drama unfolded in Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and just when you thought romance will blossom between the leads Madhubala and RK, a new twist is coming your way to spice up the plot. As already seen on the show, RK threw a party to announce Madhubala as his wife publicly, with an agenda to humiliate her in every possible way. Sources inform that in the coming episodes Madhu will be shattered and will leave RK's house. Everyone will start searching for her but Madhubala will not be found anywhere.

Madhubala: RK (Vivian Dsena) to reveal his past to Madhubala
The upcoming episode will bring some soft scenes between married couple RK (Vivian Dsena) and Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) in Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors. It was last seen that Madhubala got very hurt after being insulted by RK in the party. Madhubala left RK's house. RK's mother Radha scolded him badly for his behavior to Madhu. RK went out to search for Madhu to bring her back to his home.


It will now be shown that RK will save Madhu from getting a shock with an electric wire. Due to drenching in rain, Madhubala will faint and RK will be seen taking care of her. The scene will take a new turn when Madhu will ask RK about his and his fathers photos. RK will tell her that those photos are a very important part of his life. RK will reveal to Madhu about his childhood and past life. The sequence might also reveal the truth that Madhu had not published his fathers photos in the newspaper. Will this sequence start a friendship between RK and Madhu? Lets see what will happen in upcoming epis of Madhubala!

RK to share his past with Madhu in Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon!

Meeting of these two is bound to end up in a huge fight or heated argument, nonetheless, this is what makes their story so different and intrigue at the same time.

The arch rivals are now stuck in a crucial condition where they have no one for support except for seeking solace in each other. Yes, as reported Madhu (Drashti Dhami) and RK (Vivian Dsena) are jammed inside a studio and from here one will get to see their relation taking a new turn. As seen last, RK got rebuked by his mother for behaving so inhumanly with Madhu. Outraged at his mother's words, he decides to confront Madhu only to see her gone from the house.

He sends out people to find her whereabouts and he goes to her mother's place. However, upon knowing that she has entered a studio, which is not in a good condition, he gets down there. Not only does he finds Madhu but also manages to rescue her from a mishap.

Now, failing to find any way out to the studio; the two will spend the night over there. Madhu will fall unconscious and we will get to see RK nursing her. Furthermore, Madhu will even question him about his childhood pics and their importance. This is when RK will open up before Madhu and share his heart with her. She will learn about his past and for the first time they will be seen maintaining peace with each other instead of arguing. Chances are high that RK even learns about Madhu not being the one to have sent his pics for publishing.

Well, so far so good; let's see if they will at least turn to be friends with each other if not lovers!

The actress will play the role of RK's girlfriend in the show.

Colors' popular show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon always brings something amusing and exciting for its fans.

Once again, according to our source the forthcoming track of the show will witness the entry of an interesting character in the life of the protagonist RK's (Vivian Dsena) life. Dipali played by Seema Mishra will be entering the show as RK's girlfriend.

Dipali will be seen decorating a room where she asks Madhu (Drashti Dhami) to share the room with RK. The upcoming episodes will also bring some bitter-sweet fights between RK and Madhu for the fans.

What a tortured and wretched childhood it must've been for Rishu the 12 year old boy whose life was turned topsy turvy overnight following the suicide of his dear father------circumstances forcing him to grow up into RK the cynical superstar!

It was this very fact stated to Madhu by an emotional RK, combined with the care and consideration he showed towards her, that compelled Madhu to calm down and change her attitude towards RK. On the other hand, judging by RK's actions and uncharacteristic behavior, it was apparent that Radhaji's strong words had affected RK badly-----and his determination to prove his mum wrong prompted a total reversal of character ----thus leaving Madhu puzzled and pondering ,wondering how to deal with the new almost human face of RK. I liked RK's nonchalant attitude in the face of Madhu's anger and ego ------ his act of constantly looking up to check if the lighting rigs were ok or not, taking the circumstances in his stride , adapting quickly to the situation without complaint, and offering her biscuits not once but twice ------(quite abnormal for a rich n spoilt superstar like RK)-- also indicated at his concern for her welfare , I thought . RK springing to action to save a sleepy Madhu from falling forward into the bonfire , and placing his arm behind her to protect her head from banging against the wood behind, further indicates that RK has already started developing feelings for Madhu-------- it also seemed to me as if he was trying to get a sympathetic reaction out of Madhu , as I felt he was snidely looking at Madhu trying to gauge her expression, when he was complaining about mistakenly biting his tongue his, shoulder pain and stiffness. By the way I'd like to thank the CV's for such an entertaining episode and addressing our concerns about the camera angles and lighting.

The story is getting more interesting by the day, and the precap of RK carrying the injured Madhu (who btw was giving him moony looks)in his arms, has piqued my interest further, making me eager and impatient to see tonight's episode .

His height and light eyes made him stand out in the crowd of aspiring TV actors and helped him bag the role of Robert Pattinson’s Indian counterpart, Abhay Raichand, in theHindi TV remake of the Twilight series, Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani on Star One. But according to television writer Gautam Hegde, it is D’Sena’s Mills & Boon hero-like air that made him the perfect Rishabh Kundra aka superstar RK for the story of love and hatred, Madhubala.

RK and Madhu to share some sweet and sour moments in Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon!

Post the hurricane of severe fights, which turned the world upside down for both Madhu (Drashti Dhami) and RK (Vivian Dsena), it’s time to watch out some sweet and sour moments between the two in Colors’ Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.

As seen last, RK shared his past life with Madhu only to reprimand her about the same later. However, he took complete care of her as she had hurt herself in the studio. He even took her to his mother’s place and later got her back home safely. Madhu too seems to have developed a soft corner for him.

There we got to see a new member in the house, Deepali played by Seema Mishra. We are sure you all must be eager to know who she is and what connects her to RK. Last we saw that she addressed herself as the bahu of the house, which indicates that she might be married to Sikandar. It has also been heard that Deepali shares a past with RK too. The two were supposedly in love but how the relation took a new turn is what happens to be the surprise for all.

Furthermore, in the coming episodes, one will get to see Deepali playing a bridge between Madhu and RK. She will create instances that will help in brining the two together in the same room, and we are up for some sweet nok-jhok between RK and Madhu.
