Bade Acche Lagte Hain of Sony, Balika Vadhu, Madhubala of Colors, Bigg Boss 6, Diya Aur Baati Hum all are still ruling the hearts of audience. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was also a rage in the year. Which show as per you was the best of 2012?

Post the abrupt ending of Star Plus’ celebrated show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, actress Sanaya Irani aka Khushi has been enjoying a ball with family and friends.

The lovely lady stated, “I usually do not plan anything for the future, as I believe that one will get what he/she deserves. I am enjoying my break at the moment and had been out of the country with friends.”

As all are aware of soon she will be seen her reality show Welcome: Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi Ki on Life OK. On the new experience, Sanaya said, “After being part of fiction for quite some time now, the reality show experience was a refreshing change. I have shot for my part in the project. It was an experience to cherish.”

Apparently, none of her interviews escape the question about Iss Pyaar Ko, its abrupt ending and of course, her reaction on the same. Speaking on the same, she said, “Well, it has been a while since Iss Pyaar ended, but this question never seems to leave me. All I can say is that it was a sad feeling that we were given a notice of only four days. But I enjoyed working with the whole unit. I can say that no show can survive only on the popularity basis; there are many factors that can go into the show’s closure.”

News about her having been approached for 4 Lions Films’ upcoming show for Life OK alongside Avinash Sachdev has been making rounds. On the same, Sanaya said, “I have not got into any discussion for my next project at the moment. I don’t know where this buzz has come from.”

Arnav-Khushi chosen favourite jodi of 2012 as per fan votes

A jodi on a television show is actually the heart and soul of the project and if liked by the masses, it can do wonders in the TRP game. Something similar is applicable when it comes to the lead jodi of Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.

Yes, the lead pair of Arnav and Khushi, played by Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani respectively, went on to create rage amongst fans and over the time emerged as one of the most popular and loved jodis in the history of Indian television.

The show has bid adieu but till date their chemistry and on screen magic is remembered avidly and vividly by television lovers.

Tellychakkar.com conducted a poll wherein we asked readers to choose their favourite jodi of 2012. And they did vote in huge numbers and at one point of time, the battle of supremacy got pretty intense between two top jodis, Arnav-Khushi, and Megha-Mohan (Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha). Megha and Mohan were characters played by Aakanksha Singh and Kunal Karan Kapoor (Na Bole season 2 to air on the same channel from 14 January 2013).

But ultimately, the majestic and magnetic jodi of Arnav-Khushi emerged winners by bagging 40% percent of the total cast votes.
Jodi Megha-Mohan earned second position with 34 percent votes.

He thanked us for our wishes and informed us that its normally nothing much; just a quiet day with family and friends. Normally, his friends give him a surprise at 12 but this year, they had planned everything at a friend's place and his girl friend was also waiting for him there with the cake.

He said he expected his girl friend to call him first but she didn't as she was planning the surprise for him. His old friend from Delhi called him first.

He said that his the most special person and his family was there with him but he misses the IPKKND team. If they were there, it would have been completely complete. It was pretty much a quiet day as he isn't that much of a party guy.

4.) Number of Fans that called him up and wished him on his birthday.

He has got a lot of messages and love from the fans which is very overwhelming as his role had ended 3-4 months ago and still people remember him. He'll try his level best to reply to each one of them. And even if he is unable to reply, he has read each and every message he got; he has also tried to pick up all the calls. He is thankful to such a wonderful audience for remembering him even after leaving 3-4 months ago and says that he loves all of us.

He says that he doesn't like the word 'fans' and he says that we are the audiences and he is grateful for all our love. He feels great when people from different Countries and age group walk up to him. He thanked everyone for all the love.

Small screen stars’ big screen dreams

Prime time television audiences loved them and TRPs befriended the shows they were part of.

After ruling telly screens,TV stars, Sushant Singh Rajput (Kai Po Che, PK and an untitled flick with Parineeti Chopra), Amit Sadh (Kai Po Che), Barun Sobti (Main Aur Mr Riight and an untitled film) Surveen Chawla (Hate Story 2 and Ugly), Ragini Nandwani and Rohit Bakshi (Dehradrun Diary), Shilpa Anand (Bloody Isshq), Gurmeet Chaudhury (Cycle Kick) and Karan Kundra (tentatively titled Jatt and Juliet) are making swift moves to Bollywood. The list of TV actors doing films just gets longer with actors. With bigwigs like Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy having set the trend by starring in innumerable films with noteworthy appearances, Bollywood seems to be offering a creative incentive to actors who want to explore every opportunity under the sun.

While for some, Bollywood happened by sheer chance, for some, it has been a matter of exploring the potential in different creative fields. Ragini Nandwani last seen in the daily soap, Mrs Kaushik Ki Panch Bahuein, is geared up for her Bollywood debut Dehraadun Diary. She says, "This debut was very special because it was a big leap from TV to films. Moreover, I got to do a film that had a strong social message."

Barun, who took the just concluded daily soap Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon? to TRP-soaring highs, feels doing films is just more than looking for a bigger canvas, which can't be measured in mere numbers. "I'd not like to say that getting a break in a Bollywood movie is a breakthrough. It's more than that. And it's nothing to do with which form of storytelling is superior to the other. Television is unique in its own way, while a film has its appeal. TV requires generous amount of work hours to be put in, while a film requires a commitment of six months."

For Ragini, the "bigger canvas that cinema provides is the incentive. Although I never planned about doing movies, my first movie experience made me to stay focused on doing more films." For Barun, learning curve is more important at this juncture. "I am 28. I started working when I was 17. I know that there is scope of learning in every field."

While balancing TV and film also requires a lot of hard work. Karan Kundra, who's doing two Punjabi films besides his telly offering The Serial, feels, one requires a strong moral support from the creative team to be able to do movies and TV shows simultaneously. Karan says, "I don't differentiate between TV and films. When I am shooting for a daily show, the creative team's co-operation is crucial. Of course, it becomes hectic juggling between films and television, but if one plans properly, things become easy."

By the looks of it, 2013 might just turn out to be the year when TV heartthrobs' big ticket ride will get them more flashbulb moments.

Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal did not take up Nach Baliye 5 for 'budget issues'

Those of you who are wondering as to why there is no Sanaya Irani-Mohit Sehgal jodi in Star Plus’ popular celebrity couple dance show Nach Baliye 5…well, here comes the answer from the table of Tellychakkar.com.

There has been a lot of buzz in the social media platform with Mohit and Sanaya not being a part of the project.

So we decided to check with Mohit. Here’s what he said “We were in talks with the production house (Frames) and the channel, but unfortunately we could not come to a common figure. The budget was an issue. We did not feel that the money on offer was enough for all the hard work which we would have required to invest.”

So any chance of seeing you guys in the wild card round? “We have not been approached till now, so don’t think it will happen this season at least.”

Mohit who is currently doing Khamoshiyan again on Star Plus though would love to do a celebrity dance show. “I am a good dancer and the training would defiantly do us a world of good.”

When contacted producer Ranjit Thakur (Frames Production Company Pvt Ltd. ) for his side of the story, he said, “No comments. Busy in a shoot, will call and chat later.”

Ideally, Mohit and Sanaya should have been a part of Nach as they are Star discoveries (Mohit debuted with Miley Jab Hum Tum and Sanaya finally found fame with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?) but we guess finally it is the moolah that counts .

Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha launched with a bang!


Monday night was a great night from the duo producers Seema and Sudhir Sharma. Yes, we are talking about the comeback of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha's Season 2 on Colors. Producer Sudhir Sharma kept a launch party on this eve where the entire team of the show gathered together to watch the first episode.

Excitement could easily be seen on every face present there. They all were eagerly waiting for the clock to strike 9:30. The entire team began the countdown loudly when only a minute was left for the show to begin.
At 9:30 sharp, the show began with lots of applaud and cheers and they all watched the episode together. The guests present at the party had only good wishes and congratulatory messages for the entire team.

People expect perfection in his work and he is all ready to bring out something beyond perfection. In short, Hrishikesh is one who can stimulate the connection between his camera and the viewers.

According to you, which actor looks best in front of the camera?

Every actor is beautiful and they are a challenge in themselves for me. A task for any photographer is how to shoot every single character along with the message to be conveyed. For me, as a DOP, every shoot is possible only with a team work. Drashti Dhami looks beautiful on camera and she is the one I like shooting with my camera. For me, she is a photographer's delight. Even Sanaya Irani has a very good photogenic face

Among the shows you have done, which one do you think has been the best?

I have done numerous daily soaps and it is really very difficult to name one from them. But, for me, Geet created a mark of success in my career. Some of the shows which add to my success party are Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Do, Qurban, Lakeer, Pratibha, Desh Mein Nikala Hoga Chand, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Henna and the list goes on.

I am just relaxing and holidaying, that's all.

You are soon going to be seen in a cooking reality show, what prompted you to take up the show?
It sounded like fun concept and I guess we eat a lot in the show and I love to eat. It was only a matter of 6 days so it wasn't like taking out anything out of my life.

Tell us a bit about your Welcome: Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi ki. Is Sanaya a good cook?
I am a horrible cook, I don't know how to cook at all. I can't cook to save my life, but the whole point was not about the cooking, it was about the eating. I know I will have to cook for 1 day, but I will get to eat for the other 5 days.

Rumours are making rounds that you have signed a new show on Life OK?
They are just rumours, I haven't signed anything and if I did sign, I would had been more than happy to confirm it than hide it.

The recent noise about world ending on 21.12.12 what do you have to say about it?
Well, I knew it wouldn't end. It didn't even look close to the world coming to an end. I didn't even think about it, the day passed and I was like oh it's the 21st.

Have you kept a New Year resolution?
No, I don't keep any new year resolutions at all.

Do you follow any fitness regime?
I actually do not follow a fitness regime. In life I only want to be healthy and fit.

One particular dish you can never say no to?
I can never say no to desserts. I like all kind of desserts.

Do you watch Mohit's show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan and what do you have to say about it?
Honestly I haven't watched a lot of the show, because since my show ended I haven't been in Mumbai for long. I haven't got time to actually sit down and watch it.

The big question: When are you and Mohit getting married?
When it will happen I will tell everyone. I don't know when we are getting married since we haven't thought about it. When we do start thinking about it, we will get married.

Message for your India-Forums fans?
I just want to thank them a lot since they did a lot for our show, watched and loved us too. Hopefully I should be back soon I hope. So whatever show I am on, they better watch it. (smiles).

Sanaya Irani defends Producer Gul Khan and says, 'Gul cannot be blamed for the closure of Iss Pyaar...'

Sanaya Irani surely regrets the premature ending that her popular show on Star Plus, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (produced by 4 Lions Films and IMRC Entertainment) faced. But she does not want to get into the blame game that the ardent fans of the show are voicing at the moment.

So what is it that irks Sanaya at the moment? Well, the fact that fans of Iss Pyaar… have been verbally hitting at Producer Gul Khan on a social networking site for the closure of the show, is not going down well with Sanaya.

Defending the Producer, Sanaya questions the fans, “Why blame Gul for the show’s end? She was at a terrible loss; she lost her show and her actor (Barun Sobti).”

So what according to her was the real reason for the show shutting down? “I do not want to get into this, but it was surely not Barun’s fault as he had given ample time before quitting. The makers were also looking for a suitable replacement, but it never happened,” claims Sanaya.

While Sanaya tried her best to not get into intricate details, her boy friend in real life, Mohit Sehgal sympathized with Barun saying, “I fully understand why Barun quit Iss Pyaar. Sometimes, the creative people do get saturated and need to move on.”

4 Lions Films' next for Life OK starring Sanaya Irani scrapped

Tellychakkar.com had earlier reported about 4 Lions Films making a show for Life OK and also roping in Sanaya Irani for the same.

However, the latest is that since the production and the channel were facing some creative differences, the same has been scrapped. Yes, you heard it right.

As per a reliable source, the channel and the production house had a meeting two days ago when the channel informed the latter that they aren’t very happy with the storyline. Furthermore, none of them came to an amicable decision after which the production house planned to back out.

When we contacted producer Gul Khan, she said, “Yes, we won’t be making that show for Life OK anymore as it was in its initial stages. But, we will come with something new.”

There were also reports of Avinash Sachdev (Choti Bahu fame) being roped in to pair opposite Sanaya.

Contiloe production's Fear Files has succeeded in creating a horror season on Zee TV. The show bagged larger eye balls with its storyline and execution in a less span of time and is continuing rocking the TRP charts on the channel.

Buzz has it that in the upcoming episodes; it will have two beautiful actresses making their presence felt on small screen after a long time. Sources say that Deepali Pansare last seen in Star Plus's Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Aditi Tailang, popularly known for her character from Star One's Jaane Pehchaane Se Yeh Ajnabee will join hands for an episode of Fear Files.

Titled as Kali zuban, the plot revolves around superstition that prevails in the society. The character essayed by Deepali is of an elder daughter in law of the family, who has kaali zuban, which means whatever she says, happens in real, whereas Aditi will essay the role of a younger daughter in law of the family.
